Only two weeks left: the #harmonica_of_the_month_10: SESSION STEEL - DiMiNiShEd LF# ...play chromatically in 12 keys on a single instrument! Diminished is actually the name of a chord and a scale. For example the diminished chord in C contains the notes: C, Eb, Gb (and A). The scale contains C, D, Eb, F, Gb, Ab, A and B. The Diminished-Tuning for diatonic harmonicas has the same symmetrical order of notes. This layout makes it possible to reach all chromatic notes with simple semi-tone draw bendings alone - not too difficult to learn! > find out more and listen to the sound examples played by Alfred Hirsch

Concert with the master of the diatonic harmonica in Klingenthal/Germany Harmonica virtuoso HOWARD LEVY is the true master of chromatic playing on the diatonic harmonica - his playing technique is like from outer space. LEVY and the exceptional organ player MATTHIAS GRÜNERT (lecturer for organ and church music in Dresden/Germany) are on common musical ways developing an unique mixture of Classical, Jazz, Traditional and modern music! This concert will be absolutely unique and absolutely worth listening! |

International Harmonica Festival of the NHL in Bristol / UK (Oct. 23rd - 25th, 2015) We are looking forward to meet you at this year's festival of the British 'National Harmonica League'. We will run a booth and workshops at the 'Folk-House' in Bristol. The festival is made by harmonica enthusiasts for harmonica enthisiasts and so top-class concerts will be offered: Amongst others there will be SEYDEL endorser Mat Walklate (diatonic, UK), Pete "Matcat" Ruth (diatonic & ukulele, USA), Hermine Deurloo (chromatic, NL), Roy Hugman (tremolo, UK), Hisako Yamaguchi (tremolo, Japan) and John & Yuki Vaughan (blues harmonica, UK)...plus many interesting workshops - something for everyone! > here you will find the festival schedule
