#harmonica_of_the_month_1 - Do it!-tuning in C- finshed Jan. campaign
This is #1 from this year's series of 12 harmonicas of the month!
Please share if you know a person who might be interested.
Just Do it! 3rd positon minor - made easy
This cool-sounding specially-tuned, tenhole is called "Do it!" tuning after its inventor Dale King (Dale's Open Irish Tuning).
It is a mixture of the Richter and the Solo-Tuning and allows a very intuitive approach to playing along to minor key pieces (sound examples above and in the 'Tips'-section).
In the video you hear a D-minor jazzy piece played on a Do it! in the key of C - fat sounding double notes (octaves or fifth) can be played with ease. These are not possible to play on a Richter.
In the Do it! tuning only two notes are lowered compared to the Richter layout (2 and 3 draw, see tone-table) which opens up new possibilities for playing minor based styles like Funk, Reggae, Minor Blues, Irish Folk (Dorian), etc.
