Neil Adler

Neil is a California Jazz musician originally from Detroit, who plays improvised music based on traditional styles. On piano and chromatic harmonica, his rhythmic roots infuse the music with the soulful sound of gospel, rhythm and blues, funk, calypso, salsa, samba and jazz.

He is  an in-demand educator in workshops and privately, focusing on his conviction that good rhythm comes first.

As leader of his own 'Real Time" Trio he plays unrehearsed  'roots music', moving fluidly between songs and styles while playing piano, harmonica and pedal bass. He also performs in several other groups, arranges and composes.

Currently he divides his playing between  solo classical/jazz acoustic piano, his 'Real Time' Trio (playing piano, harmonica and pedal bass) and increasing session and studio jazz chromatic harmonica. He is a Seydel Harmonica artist endorsing the Saxony Chromatic.

This is what he says about his SAXONY:

"I love my SAXONY and would buy another except it seems that, for the first time one is enough - since its so reliable.

After introduced to the SAXONY Chromatic Harmonica at SPAH I purchased one which has become my favored intrument. Seydel is a small company located in Eastern Germany. Since 1847 they have make 100% German harmonicas with exceedingly precise manufactuing tolerances using stainless steel instead of brass. The result is an axe that is bright, loud and precise, is essentially maintanence free and, most importantly, allows me to effortlessly color the tones producing my individual sound.
The team is dedicated to produce unique instuments of the highest quality. I can offer that it exceeds high end instruments I own costing twice as much. I was pleased to be approached by the Seydel company to endorse their Saxony Chromatic Harmonica. I am proud and honored to promote this fine instrument."

"VERY NICE SOUND AND LOVE THE PIANO IMPROVISATION. REAL TALENT AND MUSICAlLITY!!
MY FAVORITE HARMONICA PLAYER AT THE MOMENT."
