Will "Harmonica" Wilde

He picked up his first harmonica at the age of 16 and played it until his lips bled. Weaned on the likes of Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson and Buddy Guy, Wilde grew up steeped in traditional Chicago Blues, yet his focus as an artist remains resolutely on the future.

Wilde fuses his passion for blues with his love of rock. He takes what's authentic and powerful about the music he grew up loving and introduces the raw energy of bands such as Led Zeppelin, Free and Deep Purple without losing the heart and conviction of the blues.

With knowledge and respect for the original masters of the instrument, Wilde takes the harmonica to a whole new level. Thomas Ruf (Ruf Records) called him ‘The Hendrix of the Harmonica’.

His live show has been described as: ‘A masterclass of blues harp playing, bar none.’ (Blues in The North West). Wilde has been six times nominated in the British Blues Awards for best Harmonica player (2011/2012/2013/2014/2015/2016)

He is the inventor of the Wilde Tuning, the world’s first harmonica tuning specifically designed for playing blues-rock and hard-rock music. This is what Will says about us: "I am extremely happy to be collaborating with the world’s most innovative and forward thinking harmonica manufacturer.

SEYDEL’s steel reeds are the only ones that can withstand my aggressive style of playing; after switching to them 10 years ago, I have never looked back.

I don’t play anything else.”

This is what others say about Will:

"One of the best blues harp players anywhere!” (Walter Trout)

"Will Wilde sets the tone for the 21st century blues artist" (Earl Thomas)

"An exciting and expressive harmonica player... Excellent vocalist" (Mike Vernon)

"He takes the harmonica to another dimension" (Paul Lamb)

Press:

"Outstanding harp with all the gruff ferocity of a junk yard dog" Blues In Britain

"Pop, Big Walter and Little Walter would be proud" Jimmy D Lane

This is what Will says about us:

"I am very pleased to be collaborating with such a reputable company, along with two of my all time favourite harp players James Cotton and Charlie Musselwhite. SEYDEL really do make the best harps.... reliable, EXTREMELY durable, and great sounding!!!"
