The Blues Express is a well-known Norwegian blues band that covers a huge range within the blues genre, with elements from West Coast Jump Blues, Texas Blues, Chicago Blues and some Soul and Rock n Roll. The band writes and performs a good number of their own songs, and is currently working on a new record. In September, they released the single "Roller Coaster Ride" which is available on all digital music services. 2019  has been a big year for the band. The Blues Express participated in winning the 2nd place in the European
Blues Challenge (EBC) at the Azores in April. No less than 22 countries where represented in the competition.
Since then the band has been very busy with festival jobs and touring activities both at home and abroad. The Blues Express has also been nominated for a Norwegian Grammy Award, Spellemannprisen 2018, in the Blues category.
In September 2019, the band traveled to Austin, Texas to do a live recording at the legendary Antones Nightclub. September 16th, The Blues Express did a 75 minutes show, featuring Henri Herbert on piano. The band plan on releasing a full live album of this performance in 2020. Other highlights that should be mentioned are the Molde international Jazz Festival, where the band played for a packed Alexandria Park featuring 1200 people, as well as a sold out Bay-Car Blues Festival in Grande-Synthe in France.
The band's current members are:
Harmonica / Vocal: Ronald Ottesen
Guitar / Vocal: Kai Fjellberg
Bass: Trond Hansen
Drums: Kåre Amundsen
Keys: xx
I using Seydel 1847 Classic and 1847 Silver most of the time.
They are easy played, great to bend, and play high notes on.
The harps are very sealed have a great sound and volume.
I trust this harps gig after gig
