Hamid Reza Behzadian, Iranian Guitar & Harmonica player

Hamid was born in Iran and since a young age interested in Persian music. He started as his first instrument with Classical Guitar, however after hearing Robert Johnson’s guitar and Sonny Boy’s Harmonica he found his favorite sound! He has several experiences with playing and recording with some different bands in his home country Iran.

His album "Dialogue" (2010) is his first solo experience in acoustic instrumental Blues. Characteristic of this album is to play traditional Iranian sound system for the first time with slide Guitar and Blues Harmonica.

Since 2011 he immigrated to the Netherlands and started to play with different bands in Blues style, and crossover music. His duo Hills & Hamid is a unique combination of American folk blues and Persian folk music. Their EP’s were released on Spotify in 2019. Because of his love for slide guitar and his curiosity to discover new music styles he started to study Indian music on slide guitar at the Rotterdam conservatory.

You will hear this power of the combination of Persian, blues and Indian music in all of his arrangements on slide guitar and harmonica. Hamid is currently involved in several bands and projects, combining different styles of music like Irish, Indian, Blues and Persian music. He loves to experience how these different styles and genres from all the parts of the globe fuse together and make a new unique sound.
