Details "1847 CLASSIC Low"
The 1847 CLASSIC is the perfect example of a timeless classic - because: “Classic never goes out of style.”
Our “Low” models in the keys of LF# to LLE feature a thicker walnut comb (7mm instead of 6mm) to ensure perfect tone control, especially in very low keys. The “Bold Body” models are also equipped with raised coverplates to prevent the low reeds from striking the coverplate. The thick design automatically creates a large resonance chamber in the mouth while playing, which ensures better sound quality and response. This effect is comparable to pronouncing the vowels “o” (wide mouth) and “i” (narrow mouth) or whistling low or high notes.
The sealed walnut comb and stainless steel reeds create a balanced sound. The wide opening of the raised coverplates projects the rich, sonorous sound directly to the audience.
- full, overtone-rich sound thanks to the unique stainless steel reeds
- quick response and low air consumption thanks to precision fine-cutting technology for the channels in the reed plate
- 100% corrosion-free thanks to the use of stainless steel for the reeds, coverplates, screws, rivets, and German silver reedplates
- wide-open coverplates with flanged edges and without brace for undamped sound projection
- sturdy, swelling-free wooden comb with a special, food-safe sealant
The 1847 CLASSIC is your ideal companion for all musical styles - whether blues, jazz, country, rock, or even traditional folk music. A perfect combination of innovation and tradition, it is a master instrument that has set new standards since its introduction.
