Payment and Delivery

Payment

Unregistered customers at C.A. Seydel pay in advance using the payment methods listed in the Seydel Online Shop. Payment in advance has the advantage that the purchase contract and delivery obligation do not take effect until payment is received. If the customer wishes to cancel the order, they simply do not make the payment. Seydel holds the goods for customers paying in advance for at least 14 days. If payment has not been received by the end of this period, the order is considered canceled. If Seydel’s suppliers fail to deliver the ordered goods to Seydel despite their contractual obligation, Seydel is entitled to withdraw from the sales contract. In this case, the customer will be informed immediately that the ordered product is not available. The purchase price already paid will be refunded immediately.

Due Date and Payment, Payment Delay

The purchase contract is concluded upon payment of the amount specified in the order confirmation via cash, bank transfer, PayPal, or other payment methods offered by Seydel, such as credit cards from specific providers. Seydel will pass on any costs incurred through the use of different payment systems in the form of fees, which are displayed in the shopping cart before the order is submitted. Under no circumstances will the buyer be required to pay any amounts about which they were not clearly informed before submitting the order.
In the event of a reversal of an advance payment or if creditworthiness is lacking when using credit card or cash payment systems, goods already delivered shall be deemed to have been delivered on account. In this case, the provisions of § 6 apply. We will charge the customer for any chargebacks resulting from canceled payments. Seydel undertakes to arrange for shipment of the goods no later than the next business day following receipt of payment, which is the day the payment amount is credited to Seydel’s accounts. Seydel is not liable for delays or losses occurring within the carrier’s sphere of responsibility, provided that the handover of the shipment is documented.

Special Provisions for Payment by Invoice

The situation is different, however, for payments on account. To use this option, you must first be registered with us and have placed at least one successful order. When ordering on account, the purchase contract is formed upon delivery of the goods to the customer or, in the case of shipping, upon handover to the carrier we have commissioned. Payment terms are the deadlines specified on the invoice. The customer may pay the invoice amount via bank transfer, in cash, or using other cash payment systems offered by Seydel, provided the payment terms and discount conditions specified on the invoice are met. If the customer defaults on payment, Seydel is entitled to charge late payment interest at a rate of 5% above the base rate per annum published by the European Central Bank. If Seydel can prove that it has incurred higher damages due to the delay, Seydel is entitled to claim these damages. Payment by invoice is only available to consumers aged 18 or older. The shipping address, home address, and billing address must be identical and located within the same country. The invoice amount is due upon receipt of the invoice. When paying by invoice, Seydel verifies and evaluates the customer’s information and, in cases of doubt, consults credit bureaus.

Shipping Costs, Delivery

Shipping costs depend on size and weight. The amount of the shipping costs is displayed to the buyer in the shopping cart when placing the order, based on the information provided, so that the buyer is always informed of the additional charges. However, it is possible that when shopping in the Seydel Online Webshop, a different country or shipping method may be selected, resulting in the display of information that is not accurate. The actual delivery location and shipping method always determine the flat-rate shipping and handling fees. If there are discrepancies between the shipping costs displayed in the order and the confirmed shipping costs, please notify us at [email protected] or by phone at +49 (0) 37467 224 53. No purchase contract is concluded without agreement on the amount of the flat-rate shipping fee. Seydel is free to choose the shipping method. Any special shipping costs requested by the customer will be added to the shipping costs as additional charges.

Delivery

For cash payments, the goods are delivered immediately upon receipt of payment. For payments made in advance, the goods are handed over to a carrier of our choice as soon as the payment is credited to one of Seydel’s accounts; for deliveries on account, the goods are handed over as soon as possible, but no later than the third business day following the credit entry, unless force majeure prevents such handover. A shipment is considered delivered as soon as we have handed it over to the carrier of our choice. Shipping is at the recipient’s risk. We insure shipments to the extent that it is economically reasonable. Whether insurance is deemed reasonable is subject to our assessment. No claim for recourse in the event of loss of the shipment can be derived from this.

Partial Deliveries

If goods are not in stock, we reserve the right to ship the entire order only upon arrival of the missing goods. A claim for subsequent shipment exists only if, at the time the order is received, it is foreseeable that delivery will be delayed by more than 8 business days. However, we will notify the buyer of any impending delivery delay in the order confirmation so that he or she is informed of the availability of items at all times. Packaging and shipping costs constitute a service and are therefore subject to statutory taxation. The buyer will not incur any additional expenses. We deliver exclusively in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.
