Play the 1847 NOBLE PT Gazell Model fully chromatically, without overblows.
PT Gazell, SEYDEL endorser and master musician, is not only one of the most successful jazz harmonica players of his time, but also the creator of the “Gazell Method.” This method enables additional blow and draw bends through the half-valving of the diatonic harmonica, creating a completely new timbre.
What makes the Gazell Method unique?
In each channel, the higher-pitched reed is valved. At the same time, instruments using the Gazell Method continue to follow the widely used Richter Tuning. This means that playing requires very little adjustment, but there are four new blow bends in channels 1, 2, 5, and 6, as well as three new draw bends in channels 7, 8, and 10. Overblows, which many players find difficult to intonate, are therefore no longer necessary, while the instrument remains chromatically playable.
